When connecting to a Windows XP shared printer, error and warning notifications do not appear during printing. The printer server and clients should be set on the same network system, and they should be under the same network management beforehand.

The on-screen displays on the following pages may differ depending on the version of Windows OS. You must access as the Administrators of the local machine. For Windows 7: Right-click your printer icon, click Printer Properties , and then click the Sharing tab in the appearing screen.

For Windows XP, if the following menu appears, click either Network Setup Wizard or If you understand the security risks but want to share printers without running the wizard, click here. If you've had recent power outages, viruses, or other computer problems, it's possible that the drivers have become damaged. Downloading and installing the latest driver for your printer can resolve these types of problems.

Install software from the printer manufacturer. If your printer came with a disc, that disc might contain software that installs a driver for the printer. Download and install the driver yourself. You can search for a driver on the manufacturer's website. Try this if Windows Update can't find a driver for your printer, and the printer didn't come with software that installs a driver. To print webpages using Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, select Print , and then select Print again.
